Happy half-year to Reese

I woke up this morning and realized that our little boy is 6 months old today. Where does the time go?

We went and had family portraits done this week to mark his 6-month milestone. I think they came out really well and Reese was a great model. The photographer kept saying how easy he was.

Reese continues to amaze us everyday. He can sit up all by himself now and even gets upset if you lay him on his back. He is progressing everyday on his "crawling stages". He now can climb up on all fours and rocks back and forth until he gets enough momentum to push forward (see video at bottom of page). He moves with a purpose and always towards an object he is not allowed to have. He has been eating many fruits and vegetables but loves his bananas. When he is through with them he actually cries because he wants more. He is an extremely happy baby and even smiles while he is fussing. He loves to be tickled and loves when you say "Boo" to him and it makes him jump. He really loves the dogs but especially Boone and he gets a huge grin on his face every time he sees him. Boone is less than thrilled about this. Lexi lets Reese pet her but as soon as he gets to close to her she backs away (this picture was taken milliseconds before Lexi walked away). The dogs are great around him and I think they will all be great friends in the coming years, especially when Reese learns to sneak them Cheerios from his high chair. He really likes Tigger and smiles every time he sees him. I am so excited because he finally has noticed some of the animals I have painted in his room but I think the monkey is his favorite. I could honestly speak for days about everything he does that I find adorable, funny, or amazing, but I will keep it semi-short for the blog.

I love this age that Reese is in. Although, I have heard that whatever the present age your child is in is always your favorite. It is so much fun to see how he amazes himself when he accomplishes something new and I almost cry for joy every time he kicks his legs in excitement when I get him out of his crib.

He has his 6 month checkup this coming Tuesday and I will post his weight and height and any other information the pediatrician gives us.

For those of you not in the loop, I have decided to continue my contract role with my company, Corrigan Consulting, until August. It will be so much fun to be home with him during his first year and I am so grateful that I am able to have this opportunity. I never let a day pass by without taking full advantage of spending this time with him. Please don't let August come too soon, I am having too much fun.

I do have to say I love the age my daughter is now, just about three. At 6 month where my son is now, it was just hard. I do love Simon at this age though.
